Being married to a professional poker player definitely influenced Marco Traniello’s interest in poker. After watching his wife, poker champion Jennifer Harman, play for several years he decided to try his hand in a game. Maybe it wasn’t his best hand, but it did make him want to succeed as a poker player. Before he met Jennifer he never imagined he’d become a poker player because he had built a career in Italy as a highly sought after hair dresser. He still owns a salon in Las Vegas, Marco Traniello Salon and Spa, but spends a great deal of time playing poker and improving his game. Talk about learning from the best. Marco has earned quite an education in poker as he is able to play with well-known professional poker players such as Daniel Negreanu, Erick Lindgren and Carlos Mortenson. He considers being able to play hands and discuss strategy with the pros a most-effective way to sharpen his skills. His best game is Pot Limit Hold’em but admits to needing a bit more practice in Stud Eight or Better. Marco describes his playing style as “colorful” – not a term typically used when describing playing styles – nonetheless, that adjective applies to his personality too. Energetic and positive best describe this outlaw. But don’t let his kind smile fool you. He’s solid as a rock at the poker table and hard to crack when he’s playing his best game.
